DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is a global rating system used to evaluate the skill levels of pickleball players. It uses a scale from 2.000 to 8.000 to provide an objective, data-driven assessment of a player's ability regardless of age, gender, or location.
Scale: Ratings range from 2.0 (beginner) to 8.0 (world-class professional).
Algorithm Factors: The rating is calculated based on three primary factors:
Victory: Whether you won or lost.
Score Margin: How many points were won compared to the expected outcome.
Type of Result: Matches in sanctioned tournaments, leagues, or clubs carry more weight than self-posted recreational games.
Dynamic Nature: Ratings update in real-time after match results are logged, reflecting current performance.
Reliability Score: A percentage (1–100%) that indicates the trustworthiness of a rating based on match frequency and recency.
Fair Matchmaking: It ensures players are grouped with others of similar skill in tournaments and local play.
Tournament Seeding: Organizers use DUPR to divide brackets accurately and prevent "sandbagging" (skilled players entering lower-level divisions).
Global Standard: It is the official rating system for Major League Pickleball (MLP) and is used by thousands of clubs worldwide.
Create an Account: Register for free via the DUPR website or the mobile app.
Log Matches: Record your results from recreational games, or participate in events where results are automatically uploaded by organizers.
Establish Reliability: Your rating becomes more accurate as you play more matches against a variety of rated opponents.
It is not used for League play.
It is used for registrants for the Geezer Meister to prohibit players seeking a competitive advantage. Geezer will report results to DUPR.
It is the only recognized rating system
You can join DUPR and play with 3 other DUPR registered players anytime and report the match to build your rating.
